Look Like a Princess But Don’t Act Like One (Sleeping Beauty Version)

The title of this blog is a motto I’ve been going by for a while now.

While I was on the Matthew Hussey Retreat in San Diego, the attendees each received these sleeping masks that had his motto “Love the Journey.”

We also had a movie night watching the film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and there’s that scene in the film where Audrey Hepburn answers her door in her fabulous sleeping mask and ear plugs.

So if you would like to purchase a set yourself, I found these on Etsy and thought they looked adorable!

I also came across this adorable sleeping set (to the left) It’s complete with a sleeping beauty story book and even a pillow mist spray!

And as mentioned in my previous blog, a lot of people usually see me in my modern vintage outfits but I pride in the fact that the secret to looking great is to be able to feel great even without much fuss especially when I’m in the comfort of my own home. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t still look and feel great wearing loungewear. Night gowns and robes are a staple for me in that wardrobe department. Here are some recent purchases I made to add to the collection:

My new pink robe is short-sleeved which makes it so hassle-free when I am making breakfast in the kitchen in the morning. Oh, and it comes with pockets!

My blue “night gown” is actually a very long top but I thought it would also make a cute bathing suit cover-up with the lace back detail and all. It’s a way to tastefully do a little peek-a-boo of a cute bra or bikini top.

It also doesn’t hurt to have a bed that makes you feel like a princess. My purchase was as a result of circumstances of having to get a new bed from the divorce, but I was very happy when I finally got my dream bed upon spending 6 months paying off and sleeping on the new mattress I got before I got the bed. It’s practicality (there are 4 of those large storage drawers underneath that bed) meets elegance. Yay to Pottery Barn:

For those of you ladies who are looking to spice things up in bed, there is in fact a sensual dance movement called the “sleeping beauty” demonstrated by my dance instructor Venus Rose at the 1:34 mark in this video:

I wish you all a restful beauty sleep for many nights to come – it’s important!
